Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Jimmy Dean Sausage (Regular or Hot), crumbled
  • 0.5 cup yellow onion, finely diced
  • 0.5 cup red bell pepper, finely diced
  • 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
  • 4 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup 2% milk
  • 1.5 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 0.25 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp dried oregano

Instructions:

  1. Brown 1 lb Jimmy Dean Sausage. Sauté in a large skillet over medium high heat until no pink remains and it's deeply browned.
  2. Add 0.5 cup yellow onion and 0.5 cup red bell pepper. Cook with the sausage for about 5 mins until the vegetables are soft and translucent.
  3. Drain the excess grease. Note: Leaving too much fat will make the bottom of your breakfast recipe with Sausage and Cheese soggy.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. Press them into the bottom of a greased 9x13 dish, sealing the perforations to create a solid crust.
  5. Layer the sausage mixture. Spread the meat and veggies evenly over the dough.
  6. Whisk eggs, milk, pepper, and oregano. Combine 4 eggs, 0.5 cup milk, 0.25 tsp pepper, and 0.5 tsp oregano until the mixture is pale yellow and frothy.
  7. Add 1.5 cups sharp cheddar cheese. Sprinkle the cheese directly over the sausage layer.
  8. Pour the egg custard over the top. Ensure the liquid reaches the edges of the pan.
  9. Bake for 20 minutes. Cook until the crust is golden brown and the center no longer jiggles.
  10. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
