Ingredients:

  • 15g black sanding sugar
  • 10ml simple syrup or honey
  • 60ml premium vodka
  • 22ml blue curacao
  • 15ml grenadine or blackberry liqueur
  • 22ml fresh lemon juice
  • 60ml lemon-lime soda
  • 1 pinch edible purple luster dust
  • 2 fresh blackberries
  • 1 sprig fresh mint

Instructions:

  1. Invert a chilled coupe or martini glass. Dip the rim into a shallow plate of simple syrup, then immediately into the black sanding sugar. Rotate slowly to ensure a thick crust and let set for 60 seconds.
  2. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the premium vodka, fresh lemon juice, and edible purple luster dust. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds until the shaker tin is frosty.
  3. Gently layer the shaken vodka and lemon mixture into the glass by pouring it slowly over the back of a bar spoon to prevent the layers from mixing.
  4. Top the drink with chilled lemon-lime soda and garnish with two fresh blackberries and a sprig of mint.
  5. Slowly pour the grenadine (or blackberry liqueur) over the back of a spoon into the center of the drink to create the heavy 'anchor' layer.
