Ingredients:
- 4 thick slices Sourdough or Texas Toast (approx. 1-inch thick)
- 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 clove Garlic, halved
- 1 tsp Dried Oregano
- 1/2 tsp Dried Thyme
- 1/2 cup Marinara or Pizza Sauce
- 1.5 cups Shredded Low-Moisture Mozzarella
- 1/4 cup Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup Fresh Basil leaves, chiffonade
- 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley, finely chopped
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a small bowl, whisk the olive oil with the dried oregano and thyme to bloom the herbs.
- Place bread slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides lightly with the herb-infused oil. Toast for 3-4 minutes until edges turn golden and the surface is firm.
- Remove from oven and rub the cut side of the garlic clove over the toasted surface of each slice to infuse flavor.
- Spread 2 tablespoons of marinara sauce evenly over each slice, followed by a generous layer of mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
- Return to the oven under the broiler for 2-4 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and develops small brown charred spots.
- Garnish with fresh basil, parsley, and red pepper flakes before serving immediately.
