Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Pure vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch Kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp Water
  • 2 tbsp Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp Semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. In a 10-12 oz microwave-safe ceramic mug, combine the melted butter, sugar, water, vanilla, and salt. Whisk with a fork until the sugar begins to dissolve and the mixture is well-combined.
  2. Add the cocoa powder and flour to the mug. Stir gently until no dry white streaks remain and the mixture looks like a thick, glossy paste. Avoid over-beating.
  3. Fold in 1 tablespoon of the chocolate chips. Sprinkle the remaining 1 tablespoon of chips on top for a professional finish.
  4. Place the mug in the center of the microwave. Cook on high power for 50 to 60 seconds. The edges should be set, but the center should still look slightly shiny.
  5. Let the brownie rest for 2 minutes before eating; this allows the residual heat to finish the cooking process and sets the fudgy texture.
