Ingredients:
- 8 slices whole-wheat bread
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp unsweetened almond milk
- 4 tbsp Nutella
- 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
Instructions:
- Trim the crusts off all 8 slices of bread. Reserve crusts for other uses like breadcrumbs.
- Use a rolling pin or smooth glass bottle to roll each slice of bread until it is very thin and compressed.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the large egg and almond milk to create the protein-rich egg wash.
- Place 1 tablespoon of Nutella and a few raspberries in the center of 4 bread slices, leaving room at the edges.
- Brush the edges of the bread with the egg wash. Place the remaining 4 slices on top and use a fork to crimp the edges tightly, sealing the pies.
- Brush the tops of the assembled pies with the remaining egg wash and sprinkle with cinnamon and sea salt.
- Place the pies in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes or until the crust is a deep mahogany brown and crispy.
