Ingredients:

  • 8 slices whole-wheat bread
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened almond milk
  • 4 tbsp Nutella
  • 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Trim the crusts off all 8 slices of bread. Reserve crusts for other uses like breadcrumbs.
  2. Use a rolling pin or smooth glass bottle to roll each slice of bread until it is very thin and compressed.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the large egg and almond milk to create the protein-rich egg wash.
  4. Place 1 tablespoon of Nutella and a few raspberries in the center of 4 bread slices, leaving room at the edges.
  5. Brush the edges of the bread with the egg wash. Place the remaining 4 slices on top and use a fork to crimp the edges tightly, sealing the pies.
  6. Brush the tops of the assembled pies with the remaining egg wash and sprinkle with cinnamon and sea salt.
  7. Place the pies in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes or until the crust is a deep mahogany brown and crispy.
