Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup Thai Tea Mix (approx. 40g)
- 2 cups filtered water
- 2 tbsp granulated white sugar
- 2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
- 4 tbsp evaporated milk
- 2 cups crushed ice
Instructions:
- Bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil in a small saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in the 1/2 cup Thai Tea Mix. Let the mixture steep for exactly 5 minutes until it reaches a dark and opaque color.
- Strain the tea through a fine-mesh strainer or a traditional Thai tea 'sock' filter into a heat-proof pitcher.
- While the tea is still steaming, whisk in the 2 tbsp granulated white sugar and the 2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk until both are completely dissolved and the tea turns vibrant orange.
- Allow the tea mixture to cool to room temperature. For faster cooling, place the pitcher in an ice bath for 2 minutes, but do not dilute the tea with ice yet.
- Fill two tall glasses to the brim with 2 cups of crushed ice. Pour the cooled tea over the ice, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
- Gently pour 2 tbsp of evaporated milk over the top of each glass to create the signature creamy swirl. Watch for the white clouds to swirl.
