Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (200g) granulated white sugar
  • 1 cup (240ml) filtered water
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) strong brewed coffee
  • 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Combine the granulated sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir consistently until the sugar dissolves and the liquid becomes clear. Bring to a gentle simmer for 3 to 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  2. Lower the heat to low and stir in the strong brewed coffee or espresso. Continue to simmer gently for another 5 minutes until the mixture takes on a rich, mahogany-colored hue.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt. Allow the syrup to cool completely before transferring to an airtight glass storage bottle.
