Ingredients:
- 1 cup (200g) granulated white sugar
- 1 cup (240ml) filtered water
- 1 pinch (1g) fine sea salt
- 2 tsp (10ml) pure vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Pour the granulated sugar, water, and salt into your saucepan. Note: Use a pot larger than the liquid to avoid boil overs.
- Stir the mixture over medium heat until the sugar crystals have completely vanished and the liquid is clear.
- Bring the liquid to a gentle rolling boil.
- Lower the heat to a simmer and cook 5–8 minutes until the texture shifts to a slightly syrupy, velvety consistency. This is the base for Flavored Coffee.
- Remove the pan from the heat immediately.
- Stir in the pure vanilla extract. Note: Adding this at the end prevents the flavor from evaporating.
- Set your fine mesh strainer over your glass jar.
- Pour the syrup through the strainer to remove any salt clumps or impurities.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before sealing the lid.
