Ingredients:

  • 16 oz French or Italian bread loaf
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 5 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp sea salt
  • 0.25 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 2 tbsp fresh Italian parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Use a serrated knife to slice the bread loaf in half lengthwise.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, sea salt, black pepper, and parsley. Mash with a fork until an emulsion is formed.
  3. Slather the compound butter mixture generously over the cut sides of the bread, ensuring coverage to the very edges.
  4. Top with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
  5. Place halves on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and shattering.
