Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs extra lean ground beef (90/10)
  • 1 can (15 oz) Manwich Original Sloppy Joe Sauce
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 large green bell pepper, finely diced
  • 1 small yellow onion, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 6 whole wheat or brioche buns, toasted

Instructions:

  1. Heat a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat with the avocado oil. Add the ground beef in a flat layer and sear for 3 minutes without stirring to develop a mahogany crust.
  2. Break the meat into small crumbles and cook until no pink remains. Drain excess rendered fat from the pan.
  3. Create a well in the center of the meat and add the diced bell peppers, minced onion, and garlic. Sauté until the vegetables are softened and fragrant.
  4. Stir in the Manwich Original Sloppy Joe Sauce, smoked paprika, and apple cider vinegar.
  5. Simmer the mixture uncovered for approximately 5-7 minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce and thicken until it reaches a rich consistency that clings to the beef.
  6. Toast the buns and portion the beef mixture equally onto the six buns.
