Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground pork sausage
  • 2 cups Bisquick Original All-Purpose Baking Mix
  • 1 lb extra-sharp cheddar cheese, freshly grated
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano or parsley

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Grate the extra-sharp cheddar cheese using the large holes of a box grater. Avoid pre-shredded cheese to ensure a better melt and moisture retention.
  3. In a large mixing bowl or a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, combine the uncooked sausage, grated cheese, Bisquick, garlic powder, and dried herbs.
  4. Gradually pour in the whole milk while mixing on low speed. Continue mixing until a cohesive, tacky dough forms and no dry streaks of baking mix remain.
  5. Use a 1-tablespoon cookie scoop to portion the dough. Gently roll between your palms to form smooth balls.
  6. Arrange the balls on the prepared baking sheet, spaced 1 inch apart. Bake for 20 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
